Come and Get Me, Daryl
Skills used:
Knitting flat (garter stitch)
Basic increases (YO, Kf&b)
Bind offs
Cast ons
I-cord (zombie guts)
There is NO free-form knitting involved with this pattern. It is written out in its entirety.
Pattern is written as 5 blocks. Blocks 1-4 are the same though with an increasing width. Block 5 is essentially the same as blocks 1-4 minus one zombie gut!
Any shaping done is just like a thumb on a mitten where you steadily increase, move the extra stitches to a stitch holder or waste yarn, then return later to pick up stitches and move on.
It’s really cool!!
THANK YOU AND HAPPY KNITTING! - Heather
If you’re interested in buying the yarn shown in this pattern, it is available as a dyed to order yarn at Groovy Hues Fibers on Etsy.
Come and Get Me, Daryl is THE knitting project for any fan of the Walking Dead. This shawl is uneven in shape, yet is worked in 5 separate blocks that include bites, gashes and zombie entrails. The shawl itself starts small on one end and larger on the other yet is held in place by placing the narrow end with the zombie entrails through one of the larger gashes on the wider side. What’s not to love? Don’t worry though, you won’t turn after knitting this!
