Cozy Cabin Shawl
The Cozy Cabin Shawl is inspired by weekend trips I used to take to a cabin in the woods with friends. The cabin we stayed in is heated by a wood stove, and having something cozy to wear on a cool evening or a crisp morning is a must. The cabin had a wonderful collection of hand made blankets and woven rugs, many with a southwestern flair. I loved wrapping them around myself and taking a hot cup of tea out onto the porch in the early morning light to watch deer who would pass through the meadows around the cabin.
This shawl is inspired by those lovely, relaxed days, those cozy blankets, and the colours that were so striking and lovely. It features an easy modified Fisherman’s rib for texture, simple mosaic panels, and requires only two rows of purling in the entire shawl, giving you a relaxing knitting experience and allowing you to sit back and enjoy the colour while creating this oversized squishy shlanket!

Notes
-This shawl is an asymmetric shape that begins from the narrow point and increases on one side only. The shawl increases are worked every fourth row in texture sections and every second row in mosaic sections.
-It is important to allow edge stitches to be loose, but when working texture stitch sections, tighten the increase side edge stitch on increase rows to keep the edge straight.
-Edge stitches are slipped at the start of each row knitwise; all other stitches are slipped purlwise.
-Colours are carried along the side of the shawl when there are no more than 4 rows between colour changes. Break yarn if it will not be used in more than 4 rows.
