The Crinoidea Scarf consists of a 2-colour brioche pattern with increases and decreases that form flower structures reminiscent of sea lilies (Crinoidea) on the light/right side of the scarf, bending their stems with the current of the ocean as shown on the dark (wrong) side of the scarf.

A basic introduction into brioche knitting is included, and supported by tables and figures.

The construction of the scarf is asymmetrical, and the pattern irregular. Hence, there are only written instructions, and no pattern chart.

The scarf is framed by a simple selvedge edge, and all increases and decreases are only worked in the first of the 4-row brioche repeats; in the following 3 rows, the stitches are worked as they appear.

Since the cast-on and bind-off consist of only 5 and 3 stitches, respectively, there is no specific technique required, and you do not have to worry about binding-off too tightly.

The pattern uses 1.5 skeins per colour, and with two half skeins left, there is a second, free loop scarf or cowl pattern attached as second downloadable file.
