You can do this in any fingering weight wool that will felt. You will need 4 colors and 3 skeins of each color. Knitpicks Palette would be a good yarn for this or you can use anything else that you may have laying around and blend a bunch together using this technique and get a bit wild and see what happens after it felts. You may just surprise yourself :)
