It is a sister shawl to Double Bubble Shawl (which is named after double yarnovers).

The body pattern is a repeat of three basic lace stitches in different configurations, easy to follow and easy to remember. The border is very simple as well and can be continued until you run out of yarn.
The shawl is crescent shaped, started in the middle. The volume is built up by increasing at the inner edge.

Sizing is adaptable, you choose how big the shawl is going to be by adding more repeats of both the body section and the border in any proportions you wish. You can also work an optional stockinette section to start with.

Any yarn from lace to DK weight will look good on the shawl. Consequently, needles should be adapted to the yarn used and the degree of lacy effect that you desire to achieve. I personally prefer to knit lace with larger size needles to get it really lacy.

Pictured shawl was knitted with two skeins of Wendy Supreme Luxury Cotton DK on US 4 – 3.5 mm needles (200g = 436 yards/400m). I used up all the yarn (1g left) to obtain a shawl that measures approximately 168cm x 48cm / 66 x 19” blocked.

Chusta siostrzana do Double Bubble (Podwójnej Balonowej), tak samo wykorzystuje podwójne narzuty w części głównej.

Wzór podstawowy można powtórzyć dowolną ilość razy, a plisę brzegową dziergać aż do wyczerpania włóczki.

Wzór nie jest skomplikowany, nawet dziewiarka robiąca pierwszy w życiu ażur da sobie z nim radę. Powtórzenie wzoru głównego to tylko 6 oczek, podstawowe ściegi ażurowe w różnych konfiguracjach.

Chusta ma kształt półokrągły, rozpoczyna się go na środku i stopniowo dodaje kolejne oczka. Rozmiar można dowolnie modyfikować powtarzając wzór, można też dodać część początkową ściegiem gładkim.

Chustę można wydziergać z dowolnej grubości włóczki, ważne, żeby była naturalna, gdyż inaczej nie zblokuje się za dobrze. Druty należy dobrać do grubości włóczki oraz do wielkości ażuru, jaki się chce uzyskać. Ja osobiście lubię chusty bardzo koronkowe i aby osiągnąć taki efekt dziergam je na grubszych drutach.

Chusta na zdjęciu została wydziergana z dwóch motków bawełny Wendy Supreme Luxury Cotton DK (100gr / 200m, został 1gr) na drutach 3,5mm. Jej wymiary po zblokowaniu wynoszą 168cm x 48cm.
