Easter fast approaches, and these adorable chickens are here to help you celebrate!

There is a hole in the bottom of these chickens to place a small chocolate egg or two, and hey, when Easter is over, they can be used as finger puppets!

I was inspired for this pattern by a knitted version I saw.

This is the first pattern that I’ve written myself, and while I’ve tested it a few times, please let me know if you have any corrections or suggestions.

Stitches used and abbreviations:

Magic Circle
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
scinc – single crochet increase (2sc in one stitch)
scdec – single crochet decrease (I prefer this method)

I used a 3.25mm (D) hook, and 8ply yarn, which resulted in a chicken 7cm high, 7cm long, and 3cm wide. Numbers in brackets indicate the number of stitches you should have at the completion of the row.
