Use tall stitches bracketed by short ones to produce a nubby blanket from one skein of yarn. A simple edge of single crochet on the last row gives the blanket a balanced look.

This pattern was created for the cats at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society. The blankets are used for bedding in the cages and go home with the cats to their new homes. Their scent on the blankets provides comfort to the cats and helps them adjust.
