I designed these fingerless mittens with novice knitters in mind. It only takes one 50g ball of 4ply to make a pair. And they can be achieved if you can dothe following:

cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, cast off.

An experienced knitter could make a pair in an evening- easily!
