Eiki is the Japanese word for great wisdom, excellent disposition, strength, willpower, and energy; all things that I wish for the Japanese people at this time. All proceeds from the sale of this shawlette through April 30, 2011 will be donated to relief efforts in Japan. Donations will be made through the Japanese Red Cross, Mercy Corps and Doctors Without Borders.

This pretty little shawlette makes a great take-along project. The beginning of the shawl is worked in garter stitch, so it’s easy to chitchat at your knitting group as your shawl grows. The edging is a scalloped lace pattern that breaks into delicate lace leaves and adds a nice dose of pretty to the pattern.

This sample was made from one skein of sock yarn at 435 yards, with very little left over.

Errata
Newest version is Eiki beads 1.0. It doesn’t correct errata, just adds information about bead placement in case you want to make a beaded version.

The first version had an error in stitch count where the lace begins and the beginning of the lace chart, and also at row 33. If your download has a small v1.3 or v1.3.2 in the lower right corner of the pages, you have the correct version and don’t need to worry about this errata. If you have the original version (without that v1.3 or v1.3.2 - you should download the new version as there are changes to the charts).
