Elder-on-the-Shelf
Fair warning: The forbidden knowledge contained within this pattern may well drag you into the insanity with abnormal angles, daemonic chart changes, shifting stitch/needle designations, & other eldritch effects.
Neither is this pattern for the faint of heart, nor is it recommended to those for whom fear is a constant companion.
Created as a Christmas gift for the most prominent Lovecraft-lover in my life a few years ago, Elder-on-the-Shelf weds the concepts of that creepy moving elf that keeps kids in line until Christmas and the Elder god that waits dead but dreaming.
Knit the piece in any weight of yarn with needles 2 sizes smaller than the yarn label recommends. The original was knit of worsted weight yarn (Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride), and the smaller replicant was knit of fingering weight yarn (Koigu PPPM).
Cthulu fhtagn for you to knit him.
