This sock was born when my research advisor was having health problems and found commercial socks to be uncomfortable. I experimented with stretchy stitch patterns, and this is what I came up with! Sadly she passed away in 2008, but the pattern is named in her honor.

The pictured sock is worked in Shibui Sock in Periwinkle.
