Emilka is a baby blanket designed to express love and affection to a very special babygirl called Emilka Anna and to her parents.

The blanket is quite easy to knit and uses just basic lace stitches to form heart panels at each edge of the blanket, and combinations of knit and purl for the outer and inner parts.

Size – one size but the pattern can be customized by using different yarns and needle sizes, and by more or less aggressive blocking.

Yarn – any sportweight yarn suitable for a baby.
My blanket is done in Drops Safran, 100% cotton, 5 ply, sportweight (50g = 175 yards / 160m) on US 2 ½ - 3mm needles and I used almost 6 skeins to obtain a blanket that measures 30 x 35 inches / 76 x 89 cm blocked.

Gauge – 22 sts x 30 rows = 4 x 4 inches / 10 x 10cm in stockinette. It is not crucial to obtain the gauge but it will influence the size of the blanket.

Needles – according with the yarn you choose, your knitting style (loose or tight) and how tight you want the blanket to be.

The instructions are both charted and written and the pattern was tested by several English native speakers.

Kocyk jest dość prosty do wydziergania, w części zewnętrznej, tej z serduszkami, używane są podstawowe ściegi ażurowe, pozostałe części to tylko oczka prawe i lewe.

Rozmiar – wzór jest rozpisany na jeden rozmiar, można go lekko zmodyfikować zmieniając grubość włóczki i drutów oraz blokując mniej lub bardziej agresywnie.

Włóczka – każda typu ‘baby’, nadająca się dla dzieci, średnio gruba, ok. 300 - 350m w 100g.
Mój kocyk jest zrobiony z bawełny Safran Dropsa (50g = 160m) na drutach 3mm. Zużyłam na niego prawie 6 motków, wymiary po zblokowaniu to 76 x 89 cm.

Próbka – 22 o x 30 rz = 10 x 10cm ściegiem gładkim (jersey). Próbka jest podana informacyjnie i nie jest konieczne otrzymanie takiej samej.

Druty – dostosowane do włóczki, z której będziesz dziergać, Twojego sposobu dziergania (luźno czy ściśle) oraz to tego, jak gęsty ma być kocyk.
