A simple cowl utilizing a Broderie Anglaise design. The pattern repeat is only 8 rows (knit 4 rows, and then knit them again, just two stitches offset), and is super easy to memorize. You can make it bigger (or smaller) by adding stitches in any multiple of 8.

A perfect project for a single skein of hand-dyed worsted or dk weight yarn!

01/16/15: I’ve noticed that a few people have had issues with the garter stitch borders curling. I blocked my cowl fairly aggressively to get it to lay flat, but ribbed or seed stitch borders are great alternatives!
