Epic Viking Beard
Truly, this is an epic Viking beard. Perfect for a unique Halloween costume that people won’t soon forget!
The hat pattern is pretty straight-forward. When it comes to the beard itself, I constructed the pattern so that you could hand-tailor it to yourself or whoever you are making it for. I just wrote out the pattern from some notes I had taken down when I was first creating it, so there might be some errors. Please let me know so I can adjust it, but overall it shouldn’t be complicated :) Enjoy!
April 5th 2013- Here is a great suggestion from NikNaks, Thanks!- “After rw 12, and merging the second color, I sc around (not using bl’s) then hdfps around, sl in first st, then flipped the hat inside out and sl to the inside st’s of the hdfps. At this point I continued on with your pattern. This step gave the hat a lip without having to go back when finished to up with sc around.”
August 2014: there’s an error on the first line. Ch 3, sl st to beginning. Ch 2, 3 dc in first st, 4 dc in next st, 4 dc in next st (11 dc + ch 2= 12 dc stitches). Sorry for the mistake, y’all! :)
