The yarn that I used to design the “Fall in Love” collection is no longer available, since the yarn dyer behind Baerenwolle is no longer dyeing any yarn. I added the equivalent (same yarn base) from my own handdyed yarn - Hazel Soft Sock 4ply as alternatives, as well as Witch Hazel 4ply.

These fingerless mittens are a quick and fun knit - perfect for last minute gift knitting or a project in between! It’s also a perfect project if you want to knit something else than socks, but also with a lovely sock yarn, that’s just too nice to be knit into socks or somewhat special to you.

Of course I had to name this pattern “Fall in Love” - because I am a total fall addict and that is just my favorite season in the year. But these mittens can be worn during fall, winter and also early spring. :-)

The mittens start at the cuff with a twisted rib and also end with it, which provides a clean and nice look, enough elasticity, but keep the mittens close to your skin, so no cold air can slip in.

The cables are only worked on the top of the hand, the inside of the mitten is in stockinette. There is one bigger cable in the middle of the pattern (which changes direction depending on which mitten you are knitting - for the left or the right hand), and two smaller cables on either side of the bigger one. In between the calbes are purl stitches.

You are going to make increases for the thumb, that make the mitten more comfortable to wear.

The pattern is available in 2 women sizes: Small and Medium. (Sample is knit in Size Small.)

The sample is knit out of BAERENWOLLE BAERfoot Sock in the colorway “Zimtstange”, which means cinnamon stick. I used for my sample only 37 grams of yarn, which means less than 200 meters.
