An easy slouchy hat knit in the round with a rolled edge and a nifty brim detail. Flick looks great knit in a solid yarn with a soft halo, but could just as easily be knit in your favourite sock wool with a moderate amount of variegation.

Be sure to match it with a highly contrasting colour so that the brim detail really pops. The brim detail looks a little tricky, but it’s not. A cable is involved in completing this stitch pattern, but it’s an easy 2 stitch cable, so a good place to learn!

Size: Adult Female (22-23 inch)

(If 2.5mm needles are not available in your location, try 2.75/US2 - I am a loose knitter and you may well get gauge with a larger size)

Main Colour (Zealana Kauri Fingering: Red): 180-190 metres
Contrasting colour (Waikiwi: Grey): no less that 4 metres.

update 4/4/2014
There is a mistake in the written instructions. Rnd13-15 reads “Repeat round 11” it should read repeat round 12 - the first slipped stitch round, as in the chart.
Apologies and I will update the pdf
