This crochet pattern can be used to make cute summer bags the perfect size for carrying the essentials, coin purses, or cases which can be used for glasses, pencils or even crochet hooks.

Written in US terms with a conversion chart included for UK terms. Photographs have been used throughout to help with clear instructions. A printer friendly version will also be included.

The main bag and flap is made in one piece and in only 4 rounds, making them a quick and easy project. An ideal pattern for craft fair table fillers, creating many variations with just one pattern!
The pattern includes options for 3 different strap/handle styles, rounded, flat or wide.

You can use any type of yarn you like, and choose to use 1 colour or a mix of colours. Different yarn weights and hook sizes will determine the size of your bags. Use the guides below to help choose a size.

Approximate bag sizes:
DK/Light Worsted yarn with 4mm hook = W 3.5”/9cm x H 5.5”/14cm
Aran/Worsted yarn with 5mm hook = W 4.5”/11.5cm x H 6.5”/16.5cm
Chunky/Bulky yarn with 6mm hook = W 5.5”/14cm x H 7”/18cm

Glasses, Pencil, Hook Case sizes:
Keep the width shorter by using a 4mm hook.
DK/Light Worsted yarn = W 3.5”/9cm x H 7”/18cm
Aran/Worsted yarn = W 4”/10cm x H 7.5”/19cm

Purse size:
DK/Light Worsted yarn with 4mm hook = W 3.5”/9cm x H 3”/7.5cm

You will need:
Any chosen yarn - less than 100g
suitable hook for yarn size
Yarn needle, Scissors, Stitch marker
