My Mom is the inspiration for the Forget-me-not Sock Heel Recipe. Mom learnt to knit her first pair of socks in elementary school over the course of one year. She remembers her first sock was knit cuff down complete with gusset, heel flap and heel turn. Convinced that she is the originator of the tube sock, mom decided to knit the second sock without a heel. Her teacher was not impressed with the tube sock .

This experience left my mom with a lifelong aversion to knitting sock heels.
