This set of four potholders have a different symbol for each season – a snowflake for the winter, a leaf with bud for the spring, a sun for the summer, and an apple/pumpkin for the fall. I used two colors, a light and a dark one for each potholder (light and dark blue for winter, light and dark green for the spring, white and yellow for the summer, and orange and red for the fall). The patterns are double-knitted, so the back is the photo-negative of the front. The trickiest part is the stem on fall potholder, which is different in the back and the front. Do not use acrylic if you want to use it with hot dishes.

I used 125 yds each of:

dark blue
dark green
light blue
light green
red
orange
yellow
white
