襖 FUSUMA : Japanese (Romaji) for (n) sliding screen.

Japanese sliding screens provide the design inspiration for this seamless monochromatic cowl. The double thickness construction provides rich warmth with contrasting colourwork: positive and negative, frame and shadow.

Construction Notes
Cowl is provisionally cast-on then worked in the round in stockingette stitch. All rounds are worked from right to left. The 6-stitch wide charts are repeated 16 times on every round. Upon completion, both ends are grafted together to form a loop.

The pattern includes 2 design options with detailed instructions for either a 3 colour cowl or a 2 colour cowl.
