Garden Kerchief
The Garden Kerchief is the perfect accessory for the Summer. I used a 100% Organic Cotton yarn that is light and airy. You can substitute any fingering weight yarn but pay attention to gauge. Since I used a cotton yarn, I didn’t need to block it. If using a super-wash, lightly block your finished swatch for an accurate result.
This kerchief is worked from the bottom up and is one piece.
It’s customizable in height and width simply by adding or subtracting rows. Make sure to follow instructions for how the last row is worked when you add extra rows.
Materials:
• 60 grams of 100% pima cotton fingering weight 1 yarn
o I used yarn from Knit Picks Simply Cotton Organic Fingering Yarn
• 3.5 mm hook or hook size needed to obtain gauge for top section
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Measuring tape
Abbreviations:
• CH – Chain
• ST(S) – Stitch(es)
• DC – Double Crochet
• REP – Repeat
• SK – Skip
• SP - Space
• V ST – V Stitch – (DC, CH 3, DC) worked in 1 ST and counts as 1 V ST. The CH 3 in the middle of the V ST will count as 1 ST instead of 3. This creates extra height, flow, and movement to the piece.
