Gex
Gex (the place) is a small town just outside Geneva, Switzerland. It is a town surrounded by mountains and stunning nature but also very much an urban place. It is inhabited by farmers whose families have cultivated the mountain meadows for centuries and by newly arrived expatriates from all countries. It is a town of contrast: countryside and urban landscape; expat and local not to mention the border between countries that people cross every day to go to work. The contrasts and the scenery of Gex were the inspiration for this design.
Gex (the sweater) is pure addiction to knit. The short row garter triangles are very more-ish. It features interesting construction. The yoke of the sweater is knit sideways in garter stitch with short rows that form the necessary shaping. Stitches are then picked up along the long edge of the yoke “circle” for the body and the sleeves.
