Yoda Ears for Hat/Beanie Cap

I didn’t have a pattern so I just went with a basic baby beanie cap and fashioned ears out of triangles that I shaped into Yoda ears. I think it turned out pretty well myself.

Supplies:
Red Heart Super Saver yarn
Size :H“ hook
Tapestry needle

Yoda Ears

*** Start with an 8-10 inch tail for sewing ear onto cap, tie it up to keep it out of the way. ***

  1. Chain 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch 1 & turn.

  2. Sc in each sc across, ch 1 and turn.

  3. Sctog first 2 sc, sc to the 2nd from last sc. Sctog the last 2 sc, ch 1 turn

Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you have 3 sc left. sctog these 3 sc, ch 1 turn and make a final sc, fasten off with a long tail (8-10 inches), for shaping top portion of ear.

Slightly roll outer portion of ear and use your fastened off tail to sew it in place along the edge, weave in ends.

Using your beginning tail, sew along the bottom edge of the triangle to gather the ear so that it makes a cupped ear that you are satisfied with. Sew this onto your cap and weave in the ends on the inside of your cap.
