This is a basic hat pattern, loosely knit in a garter stitch band and brioche stitch body. The pattern includes pictures of the brioche stitch and is perfect for anyone new to this loose and airy stitch.

The hat is knit flat and seamed up the side.

1/11/11 Errata:There’s an error on the working row of the brioche stitch for anyone who downloaded before 1/12/11.
Working row should read:
K1, * yarn forward between needles, slip on st as if to purl, knit next st and the loop over it by bringing the yarn over the right needle creating a loop over the slipped st. Repeat from * until last st. Yarn forward between needles and slip last st.

The * at the beginning was in the wrong place and the second * was missing.

If you downloaded Version 2 or later this error has been corrected.
