The finished granny measures approximately 5 1/2 inches square when it’s made with a 3.5mm hook. It will of course be bigger if you use a larger hook! Gauge is not terribly important - a 3.5mm to 4.5mm hook using DK yarn will produce a nice looking granny square using this pattern.
