Here is the pattern for my crochet granny square cup cosy - a beautifully simple design for a slipover cosy to fit a standard size mug. The pattern is written in both UK and US crochet terms.

These mug cosies are a lovely way to keep your drink warm, and to protect your fingers from the hot surface of the mug - and on top of that they look really attractive too, and make great gifts.

This cosy will fit a standard size mug, approx 3 inches (8cm) diameter, 10 inches (26cm) circumference, and 3 1/2 inches (9cm) high.

This is a written pattern with no charts. Beginner to intermediate crochet skills are required.

Gauge is not important for this pattern. It is a great way to use up scraps of yarn left over from other projects.
