Half and half scarf
The name says it all - two halves two colors, one scarf. Half of the scarf is knit using one skein of one color and one skein of a contrasting color for the other half. One side of the scarf has two slits worked so the other side can be pulled through the openings to hold the scarf in place. This is a nice place to embellish with a beautiful shawl pin or brooch if you would like to show a little bling.
This scarf is easily adaptable to other weights of yarn. Just use your “stitch per inch” gauge multiplied by the width of the scarf, which is 6.5 inches. Use this number stitches to cast on and be sure to adjust it so that it is an even number. This would also look good knit in a single solid color for the entire scarf or even a multicolor yarn or how about a multi color yarn on one side and a solid on the other.
It is relatively easy to knit, so have fun with it.
