Pumpkins are worked in the round. Pattern includes a tip for handling the 4-stitch cast on on double point needles.

Gauge is unimportant. If using thicker yarns, the bigger the pumpkin will be; vice versa if the yarn used is finer. Yardages are guidelines and reflect the large and tall pumpkins knitting at 3 to 3.5 stitches per inch and the medium pumpkin knitting at 5 stitches per inch.

Pumpkins can be knit with an optional gathering technique (makes the pumpkin more realistic) for which instructions are given complete with photos.

Instruction for knitting the stems is included. Stems are shaped with short rows and use only a few yards. Suggestions are included on how to vary the surface appearance of the pumpkins.

Pumpkins are stuffed with polyester fiberfill.
