Thank you for checking out my very first crochet pattern design! This PDF features my Hatching Alien baby blanket, created using the Overlay Mosaic crochet technique. If you’re familiar with this style of crochet, this pattern will be very straightforward, however if it’s your first attempt at Overlay Mosaic, I’d say this would be more intermediate.

This pattern works best with two contrasting colours to create the most striking results, and this PDF features lots of photos from my brilliant testers to give you some ideas, but I’d love to see your creations once you’ve made your very own!

If you decide to use the recommended DK yarn and 4mm crochet hook, your blanket will be between 24-28 inches wide and 26-30 inches in length, however this will vary depending on your tension. You can make the blanket bigger or smaller by adjusting your hook and yarn size.

No border instructions are included in this PDF, however there are multiple options out there that work perfectly with Overlay Mosaic blankets. I look forward to seeing which one (if any!) you choose.
