Heather and Woad was named for the woad-blue of the band and the heather-y type color of both of these alpaca-based yarns.

This hat is worked in two parts. The bottom (blue) band is worked flat, sewn together, then edged with a row of crochet. The crown of the hat is picked up from the knit edge, worked in the round then decreased and pulled together at the top.

The size of the hat can be adjusted by making the bottom band longer or shorter, then picking up more or less stitches with the crown colour.

The pattern includes a series of pictures to help with the more complex aspects of its construction.
