Heliades
In Greek mythology, the Heliades were the daughters of the sun, and sisters to the ill-fated Phatheon. They were so inconsolable after his death, the gods turned them into poplar trees and their tears into amber.
As you work this shawl from the bottom up, you’ll see the poplar leaves sprout and take shape as they spring up from the bottom. After the border, you’ll work short rows to gently curve the shawl to help it stay on your shoulders. The size of the shawl is easily customizable using different yarn and needle combinations.
