The ancient Greek goddess Hestia symbolizes the hearth and family, architecture and the state. This shawl is named after her because of its generous size, warmth, elegance, and texture. It is made out of two skeins of fingering weight yarn.

The body of the shawl is knitted with the larger needle size. The edging is knitted sideways with the smaller needles. There is an option to add beads to both the body and the edging. You would need about 200 beads.

The pattern is not very difficult. It is suited for intermediate knitters or adventurous beginners. You do need a bit of patience because of the size, but once it’s winter, you will be grateful to have a nice large wrap to keep yourself warm.

The pattern has been test knitted.
