Hive is made up of individual hexagons sewn together. The pattern is not sensitive to gauge, as long as it’s consistent for all the pieces, and the blanket size can go up or down a few inches accordingly.

I recommend a yarn that can be machine washed for any baby blanket, but any yarn you like can be used in this pattern.

Approximately 7 skeins of 280 yards DK yarn were needed for the 44 hexagon pattern at 33”x42”.
