Houseless Hat
With the intent of being super warm I went for BULKY yarn using 3 worsted weights together with a size P hook (crochet rather than knitting to create a thicker fabric) for this top-to-bottom beanie. This is quick work, I clock one hat in about 30 minutes.
This pattern was inspired by an unfortunate need, houseless people in the town I went to college literally freezing to death because it has already been so cold this winter. One of the ways I have attempted to help the situation is creating warm (hopefully heat-conserving) clothes. I decided to write this pattern for others who also wish to help. Given the intention of ever starting to create these if feels only right that this pattern forever be free.
If you’re donating local to you, AWESOME. That’s probably the best thing you can do. If you’d like recommendations of where to donate beanies, please contact me via instagram @sagebrushartistry to connect. If you would like to donate to my personal efforts my venmo username is Jasmine-Barber-Winter , any support to help me do more of this work is crazy appreciated. Even if you are making one to donate to a friend in need, or even for yourself, I’d love to connect and see what you create.
