The ‘Hugs and Kisses’ cable is one that you see all over the place, and for good reason! But I hadn’t seen it done as an ‘all over’ cable so I decided to give it a go and I love the results.

The cabling makes the hat thick and squishy and it really holds heat in which is perfect if it’s lightly snowing outside (which it happens to be on the day of posting this pattern.)

If you’re new to cabling it might take a little longer than the time I have noted here, and to speed things along I would really recommend learning to do these small cables without the need for an additional needle. You will get plenty of practice with this one.

I have given a generous estimate of wool needed here. If you knit a snug little cap as I have in the pictures you may only need 200m but better safe than with a cold crown.
