I’ve always loved fun-shaped shawls and I seem to always go back and forth from wanting something I have to focus on to something mindless and this fits that bill. The sections are easy enough that they become mindless but short enough that you have new sections often. It’s created with my video game collection which was one of my countdown calendars.

This pattern is designed for 10 fifty-gram hanks of yarn. This is the equivalent of 5 full hanks or 25 minis (20-gram).

Color placement:
This shawl is designed to really let the beauty of indie dyed yarn shine and let each color section stand out, not blend into each other. So, when you are choosing the order of your colors, you’ll want the colors to contrast each other. I found having a mix of variegated and speckle-dyed yarn helps with this contracting feature.

Section set-up:
There are 20 sections in this shawl. The first 10 are worked over about 40 rows each, the second 10 are worked over about 20 rows each.

If you are using 5 full hanks of yarn, you can use each color twice in the first and second sections.

This pattern has normal pattern instructions and a condensed version. The condensed version is after the normal.
