Immersion Cardigan
Color takes front stage in this open, seamless cardigan. Using a gradient kit that progresses from light to dark shades, it looks like it was immersed in progressively deeper dye pots. Patch pockets and rolled hems lend a relaxed flair to the flattering A-line fit and luxury fabric.

NOTES
Immersion is a seamless cardigan, worked from the top down in stockinette stitch. The back neck stitches are cast on first and increases are made for the shoulders and simultaneously short row shaping drops and curves the back neck. The neckline and sleeve caps are knit “contiguously” top down using a method adapted from Susie Myers (“SusieM” on Ravelry). The sweater is knit flat in one piece down to the hem. Sleeve stitches are held on waste yarn and slipped to a needle after the body is completed, and knit top-down and in the round. The sweater is finished with optional patch pockets on each front. Extra long slightly belled sleeves and long length, unfinished simple rolled hems adds to this cardigan’s simplicity and grace.
To create the flattering silhouette, this design includes additional shaping around the curve of the shoulder. A-line shaping beginning at the waist eases this relaxed, flowy cardigan over the hips so that it drapes freely. Please spend some time looking over the schematic to help you choose your size and decide on any modifications to the waist or hip shaping. Choose the closest size to your upper bust measurement. Some positive ease is recommended for an effortless and easy layer.
