Irmelie is a simple and elegant lace shawl, with a crescent shape that makes it drape well over the shoulders. It features a beautiful lace edge with heart shaped motifs, and a simple stockinette stitch body. It is worked from the outer edge, and is shaped with short rows.

The pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters and adventurous beginners. Specific required skills are listed below. Instructions are both written and charted. 15 sts/36 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Gauge is not important in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect the finished size and the yarn requirement.
