This is the hat version of the Isbre sweater, using the same historical Norwegian colourwork chart, and employing the same smart method for avoiding long floats. The hat has a folded brim to keep your ears warm and snug in the cold.

Yarn
Rauma Finull PT2 (100% Norwegian wool, 175m / 191 yds, 50 g). 250 m main colour, 40 m contrast colour.

Could be substituted with any sport to fingering weight yarn. You will get the best results if you use a non-superwash ,woollen spun, sheep’s wool yarn. Alternatives: Hillesvåg Ask or Vilje, Tukuwool Fingering, Sandnes Tove, Navia Duo, etc.

Needles
Gauge-size needles for stockinette and stranded colourwork, 1 mm below-gauge circular needles for ribbed hat brim

The sample was made using 3.75 mm (US 5) and 2.75 mm (US 2), using 4 mm (US 6) for the stranded colourwork.
