Some days you’re running off to save your sister. Other days you’re watching her being crowned queen.

This Anna-inspired wig hat is available in the following sizes:
Older Infant (can be made even smaller with a tighter gauge)
Toddler
Child
Teen/Adult
Adult Large (this size fits my 24” noggin)

Skill level is a more experienced Intermediate. It is mostly made in HDC (US crochet terms) except for the braided puff stitch. The braid is worked into the hat/bun as you go. So once you sew the bun to the body, that’s it - no additional pieces to attach. The bun can be stuffed with a light amount of polyfill or whatever scrap yarn is left. But only enough to give the top a little support. Too much stuffing will cause the bun to bulge out the bottom into the hat itself and it won’t feel sit right.

Depicted yarn is Vanna’s Choice in Rust. But any reddish-orangy colored worsted yarn will do.

One 170-yard skein of Vanna’s Choice was just enough to make even the largest size, but I do not recommend playing yarn chicken. It was JUST enough yarn and I ultimately opted not to stuff the bun at all. I recommend working with at least 200 yards of whatever yarn you choose.

The pattern has no charts or stitch diagrams.
