Jane Austen Inspired Regency Doll
Do you find yourself dreaming about long Empire waist dresses? Do you love your afternoon tea? Do you own multiple copies of not only Jane Austen books but also works by Elizabeth Gaskell and Maria Edgeworth among others?
Then this is your sort of doll.
Made with some basic crochet techniques, this doll is modeled to look very similar to Regency-era fashion. She has a long Empire-waist dress, a curly hairdo, color matching shoes and ever so slightly puffed sleeves.
I give full instructions on how to accomplish the entire look--including the hair-- but just take a look at a few other Regency styles and you can easily modify it to make this doll uniquely your own! She would also look great with accessories--such as a small book or shawl--or set up in a diorama of a classic English tea!
You will need to know: sc, hdc, dc, slst, FLO and BLO. In addition to the three colors of yarn, you will need ribbon and two knitting needles for the hair. (No knitting is required, though!) You can also add safety eyes to the doll if you so desire.
Update 1: Please use PDF entitled “Revision1” as it corrects some previous errors.
