There are several different versions of this popular hat from the TV series Firefly floating around the net. This is my version, which has changed greatly in the 14 or so times I’ve knit it. This is as close as I’ll get to the authentic hat. Lopi tends to be a bit scratchy, but once it’s handwashed in a mild soap or detergent, it softens up a lot.

There are quite a few Jayne Cobb Hat patterns on the internet, most for public, non-commercial use. This specific pattern is, to the best of my knowledge, original, and has my own personal tweaks thrown in, so if you like the way my specific Jayne hat looks, this is the pattern to make it.
