Jiffy Jacket
An easy jacket, knit from the top down, with no finishing required. The asymmetrical opening in front is double-breasted and buttoned once at the neck on the inside and outside. The sleeves are three-quarter length but can be easily lengthened because it’s knit from the top down. The little surprise detail on the sleeves and on the back hem could be left off for a baby boy.
The most challenging part of this is keeping the front edges of the garter stitch neat since there is no placket. I tried slipping the first stitch of every row but it didn’t work as well as knitting the first stitch, and giving an extra tug on the yarn before knitting the second stitch.
