This shawl has been designed to mark the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2012)

The shawl may be knitted with or without the border.

The main body of the shawl is knitted in ONE piece, with the optional border sewn on afterwards

Instructions are given for both a full written pattern and charts (these instructions are printed on separate pages within the pattern, so just the written pattern or just the chart pattern may be printed if desired)

Materials required: one pair size 2.5 mm knitting needles, six stitch markers (optional).
Yarn requirements:
borderless shawl – 70g/925 metres approx. 1-ply yarn
shawl with border – 90g/1350 metres approx 1-ply yarn

Finished size:
borderless shawl - 16-inches/40 cm wide by 61 inches/1.60 metres
shawl with border - 20-inches/50 cm wide by 66-inches/1.70 metres

Gauge: 10 sts and 11 rows = 1-inch/2.5 cm over stocking (stockinette) stitch
