Notes
This pattern is inspired by “The Old Ball and Chain” crocheted version by Laura Avery HERE and uses the Cricket ball sized Stockinette Short Row Sphere pattern from Brent Annable, for a wonderful mathematically correct sphere HERE. It’s a great one!

Gauge:
Who cares, this is for fun!

Needles and Yarn:
I used black worsted weight yarn, and two 4.5 mm double pointed needles.

Uses:

  • Great All Hallow’s Eve or All Saint’s Day accessory to a prisoner’s costume. (St Maximillian Kolbe or one of the many martyrs.)

  • Make more chains for a good “Jacob Marley” Costume for a play.

  • Game of swing the ball around your ankle and jump over it.

  • Great gag gift for a wedding

  • Great prop to illustrate the shackles of sin to a CCD, Catechism, or Sunday School class.
