I’ve been inspired by 2 different dishcloths: Not Your Ordinary Knitted Dishcloth by Erica Berge and Nai-Nai’s Favorite Dishcloth by Ali Crockett. However, both are corner to corner patterns which I am not particularly fond of. My pattern uses 2 strands of cotton thread held together like in Erica’s pattern. I love the weight of the doubled crochet thread and how quickly it dries compared to normal dishcloth cotton.

Rather than do a garter stitch, my pattern has an interesting slip stitch pattern as inspired by Ali’s pattern. It works up quickly while having enough variety to keep a knitter’s interest. There are two very different sides to the dishcloth, one is kind of smooth and the other is kind of rib like without purls. Both sides are pretty, neither is the right side nor the wrong side.
