Here it is folks, a knitted ball that looks pretty on both ends!

By using a provisional cast on, I have designed a ball that you start in the middle, and work outward to the ends.

The resulting ball is very smooth looking, because there are no increases, only decreases! Also it completely eliminates the problem of starting a round with only 8 sts, talk about fiddly!

And, each one only takes an hour to knit, and a very small amount of yarn (see the third picture). You could make dozens!

I like to fill my hacky sacks with lentils, but you can also use stuffing, yarn, beans, corn kernels, or anything larger than rice.
