This pattern was created to let the yarn Lead the Way. With the assigned pooling technique, the yarn tells you when to do something different, in this case the X stitch, therefore creating a fabric that is as unique as every skein of hand-dyed yarn. With a plain stockinette background, the colored pattern is worked over 2 rows to create the X stitch and really bring the colors to life.
