This is a shape that stays on well and I’ve added buttons, one in front and two others that create sleeves.

The sample is worsted weight but any yarn can be used as long as you get the measurements you want. I used a little under 400 yards.

My gauge was 20 stitches = 4 inches, using a worsted weight yarn. I am a loose knitter and used size 5 needles, so adjust your needle size if necessary. If you have a smaller or larger gauge, or if you want to use a different weight yarn, you can just make more or less repeats to get the length you want.
