Lilleput
Lilleput is an old pattern with a modern twist.
It is knitted sideways in one piece starting from the left front. The striped pattern in the yoke is made with short rows. Once the knitting is completed, either Kitchener-Stitch or Three-Needle-Bind-Off Technique can be used for finishing the sleeve seams.
A Crocheted Chain Stitch is added to give a nice contrast for the vertical striping.
An embroidered patch adds a whimsical touch.
This is a good project for the wild sock yarns. The overactive ones can be tamed by pairing them with calm solids or almost solids.
I have used Regia, Austermann Step, Lorna’s Laces, Trekking and various fingering weight merino or merino blends from independent dyers.
100g of each of the main colours (total 200g) and 50g of accent colour for I-cords, front edgings and gussets will be needed.
The pattern has actual size templates and instructions for the embroidered patches.
